MegaCon - February 17-19

$60 for inked, 9"x12" single character waist-up on bristol or your sketchbook.  I'll probably do 12-15.  Come by early Friday or Saturday if you want a spot (as always, I will save some spots on Saturday for those who can't get Friday off work).  Free sketch if you buy a copy of MAGUS 1-5 or bring me your copy (or copies) to sign!

WonderCon - March 16-18

I'll be doing just a few $60 commisions (same specs as MegaCon) -- probably 4-5 -- and spending the rest of the time doing free sketches.  Because the con has so graciously invited me out, I want to be able to spend more time meeting and chatting with the con-goers.  Doing the usual load of commissions is fun, but I sometimes feel like I have to close myself off socially to concentrate on them, and sketching is a much more relaxed and personal way for me to interact with readers.  I'm super excited!  (Limit of one per person to make things fair and all).  Same with MegaCon, for those seeking commissions, please come by as early as possible on Friday or Saturday.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!  I spent most of mine packing, but Jon, Donut, and I have finally started to settle in to our new place in Florida and I'm enjoying working on our patio in perpetual sunshine.  Being only 45 minutes from Orlando, I'm excited to be at MegaCon for the first time since I was a student at SCAD without even enough portfolio pages to warrant a review.  Not sure where my table will be but I will update when I get the info.  Jon will be with me and we will have all 5 issues of Magus for sale.  If you pick up a copy I'll be happy to do a free sketch of your choice!  I'll also be doing my regular commissions for $60, first come first serve.  See you there!

My con schedule for 2012 is still in the works... for now the only convention I'll be attending with certainty is the new Denver Comic Con and Literary Conference June 15-17.  Gail Simone and Jason Aaron are just a couple of the amazing guests they have attending.  I'm honored to be a part of it and I love the focus on comics as literature and education through comics.  If you're in the Denver area you've gotta check it out, and they've got great hotel deals right now if you're not in the area.  I'm also excited just to finally visit Denver because I've always heard such great things about the food, culture, and natural beauty.  Hope to see you there!

I'm very excited to announce my first international appearance (I love that word, it makes it sound like the person is going to be put in a Popemobile and driven in a circle) on Saturday, September 24th in London, UK!  Orbital Comics has graciously allowed me to set up shop and sign & sketch away for an hour or two.  Yes, FREE sketches (purchasing something from the fine folks at Orbital is all I ask in exchange).  Hope you can make it!  Here are all the deets:

Next on this year's convention circuit is Big Apple Con -- mercifully only a 20 minute subway ride from my apartment! I'll be doing my usual $40 9x12 single character upper-body inked sketches, and selling originals. I wish I'd had the time and money to put some prints together but looks like that will have to wait for NYCC. :-/ Hope you'll stop by and say hello!  I'll be at Booth #903.
